BXI Studio is our comprehensive, all-in-one software platform for biosignal research and development. We built it to serve as the complete solution for working with EEG, EMG, ECG, and other biosignals—bringing together everything you need from data acquisition to advanced analysis in a single, unified environment.
We created BXI Studio because we saw a clear gap in the biosignal research landscape. Researchers, businesses, and individual practitioners were constantly switching between multiple software tools, writing custom integration code, and wrestling with compatibility issues just to complete basic workflows.
At the heart of BXI Studio is a modular design philosophy. We've organized the platform into three specialized modules—Connect & Configure, Streams, and Datasets—each focused on a specific aspect of biosignal work, yet seamlessly integrated with the others. In the following sections, we'll walk through each capability of BXI Studio in detail.

Connect & Configure is the gateway to unlocking your Instinct headset's full potential. Before you can visualize signals, you need reliable hardware connectivity—and that's exactly what this delivers.
We support simultaneous pairing and management of multiple Instinct headsets, allowing you to run multi-participant studies or complex experimental configurations from a single interface. Each device maintains its own connection status, battery level, and signal quality indicators. Our curated onboarding flows guide you through device discovery, connection verification, electrode impedance checking, and signal quality validation.
Assign each device to specific subjects, save your complete setup as a configuration profile—when participants return for follow-up sessions, load their profile and resume with identical settings. This saves setup time and ensures consistency across sessions, critical for longitudinal studies.

Streams brings your biosignals to life with real-time visualization and recording of EEG, EMG, ECG, and other biosignal data. We built this module to give you complete visibility into signal quality and recording control.
Our multi-channel visualization engine displays single channels to full 19+ channel arrays with seamless performance. Switch instantly between time-domain waveforms, frequency spectrograms, topographic maps, and band power plots. Each channel is color-coded and individually scalable for precise monitoring.
Recording is simple: start and stop with one click, add event markers in real-time, and monitor file size as you record. We automatically capture session metadata—device configuration, participant information, and timestamps—ensuring every recording is fully documented.
Signal quality monitoring runs continuously with real-time impedance displays and color-coded indicators. We track noise levels, detect artifacts, and monitor device health including battery, temperature, and connection stability. When quality drops, Streams guides you through troubleshooting without interrupting your session.
Datasets provides comprehensive management for all your recorded biosignal data. Access your complete recording library, organize sessions by project or participant, and search through your data with powerful filtering tools. Add annotations and event markers to your recordings post-collection, building detailed documentation of experimental events and observations.
We track complete metadata automatically—recording parameters, device configuration, timestamps, and session information—ensuring every dataset is publication-ready. Export your data in multiple formats including .xdf, .edf, .csv, and .mat, with full metadata and annotations preserved.
Share datasets with collaborators, maintain version control as your analysis evolves, and package everything needed for publication or archival storage.
